Thought I was just an ‘endurance’ athlete until I started interval training so decided to go for the shorter distances as well.

I am now an age group Triathlon World Champion in Sprint, Standard, 70.3 and Ironman distances.

What does 2026 have in store – finish the year with the Ironman World Championships in October in Kona. But, before that a triathlon in reverse! Hibernal Hills 50 mile Ultra in February, Marmotte Granfondo, 110 mile cycle with 5000m elevation in the French Alps, in June and Swim Serpentine in September.

Running was my nemesis when I started triathlons, but I now love it, especially Ultra Marathons. The Oner along the Jurassic coast, 85 miles in 24 hours, the Arc of Attrition 50 and 25, round the Cornish coast line in January. Black Mountains and Brecon Beacon Ultras and finally Winter on the Downs 50 and 100 mile Ultras.

London Marathon still beckons, still hoping for a sub 4 hours, but will need some serious dedicated training towards it.
