2020 was a write-off. Roll on 2021, or so we thought!
The Oner – an eighty-two mile, twenty four hour ultra along the Jurasic Coast – cancelled! However, myself and my running buddy completed the One Shot 50mile Ultra, a challenge set by Sandsfoot Cafe instead.
Cardiff Sprint Triathlon in June – cancelled! But Eton Dorney Sprint Triathlon in May went ahead? – qualified for the World’s in Montreal, Canada in June
Leeds Standard distance triathlon went ahead – qualified for the World’s scheduled for Abu Dahbi but no date as yet. Had the chance to see the elite. Especially the British men battling it out for the final place in the UK Triathlon Team for Tokyo. Sad to see Ali Brownlee not on form, but great to witness Alex Yee. What a performance, so relaxed and way ahead of the field.
Weymouth 70.3 went ahead. Glorious sunny day, sea calm. Loved it. Especially the bike, 16.6mph took the hills easy as I wanted to save my legs for the run for which I averaged sub 9min/mile that I was happy with. PB at nearly 75! Not bad, getting stronger, fitter and faster!!
